(92) And from hence the wild, fierce, and evil Beasts have their Original in this World. For the Host or Army of Lucifer had kindled the Saltiter of the Stars and of the Earth, and half killed, spoiled and destroyed it.

(66) and had so continued, if the seven Planets and Stars had not risen or sprung up from God's Spirits, which opened again and kindled the Chambers of Death in the dark House of this World, in all Places every where, from whence exists the Regimen or Dominion of the Elements.

(13) Now when these evil, devilish Spirits (understand the Center of the Genitrix) moved or boiled in God’s Salitter, and made havock, or spoiled all therein, then there was nothing but Stinging, Burning, Murdering, Robbing, and a mere opposite or contrary Will.

(127) When the whole Deity in this World moved itself to the Creation, then not only the one Part did move, and the other rest, but all stood jointly in the Mobility, even the whole Deep, so far as Lord Lucifer was King, and so far as the Place of his Kingdom reached, and so far as the Salitter in the Wrath-fire was kindled. [Now observe,]

(63) This Power of the Stars and Elements did the Creator, after the horrible Fall of Lucifer's Kingdom, frame and put into such Order again, as the Kingdom of the Angels stood in, in the Divine-Pomp, before his Fall.

(88) And as I was beholding in the vision, lo, one of those four who had come forth stoned (them) from heaven, and gathered and took all the great stars whose privy members were like those of horses, and bound them all hand and foot, and cast them in an abyss of the earth.

(2) All things being undefined and yet unwrought, the light things were assigned unto the height, the heavy ones had their foundations laid down underneath the moist part of Dry Space, the universal things being bounded off by Fire and hanged in Breath to keep them up. And Heaven was seen in seven circles; its Gods were visible in forms of stars with all their signs; while Nature had her members made articulate together with the Gods in her. And [Heaven's] periphery revolved in cyclic course, borne on by Breath of God.

(53) But it is to be considered, how all was comprised in the Word at the great Tumult and Uproar of the Devil, so that all sprung up in its own Being according to its Power, Virtue and Kind, as if it had never been destroyed, but only altered.

(123) so in this Manner Lord Lucifer brought the Deity into Anger and Wrath; “that is, kindled the eternal Nature according to the first Principle;” seeing he together with all his Angels, as a malicious Devil, fought or strove against the Deity, intending to bring and subdue the whole Circumference, Circuit, or Region, under his innate Spirits, that they should form, frame, figure, and image all, and the whole Circumference, Region, or Extent, should bow, yield, and suffer itself to be ruled and formed by the kindled Sharpness of the innate Spirits. And

(53) By this you may understand, what great Power the Spirits of the expelled Angels have had in the heavenly Nature; and what Manner of Substance this Perdition or Corruption is of; how they have corrupted and spoiled Nature in Heaven in their Place with their horrible Kindling, from whence the horrible Fierceness which is predominant in this World exists.

(108) Now when this horrible Lucifer, as a Tyrant and raging Spoiler of all that is good, showed himself thus terribly, as if he would kindle and destroy all, and bring all under his Jurisdiction, then all the heavenly Hosts and Armies were against him, and he also against them all; there now the Fight begun, for all stood most terribly, one Party against another.

(25) And by this now, in the Creation of this World, the Stars and the Elements, as also the Creatures, tremble and burn, out of which exits also the House of Death and of Hell, also eternal, base, loathsome Habitation for the Kingdom of Lucifer, and for all wicked Men. This Quality generates,

(30) Thus in this springing up [or going forth] the material Matrix was extinguished, and the Wrathfulness [Tartness or Fierceness] is come in the Stead thereof. And the Devil remained in the Original of the Matrix (which cannot be altered in Eternity) between Paradise and this World, in the dark Matrix; and with the Creation of the Earth, he was thrust down from his high Throne [or Seat,] where now the fiery starry Heaven is.

(72) Now this animated or soulish Spirit was bound or united with the Deity, in Nature, and could qualify, mix or operate in and with the same, as if it were one and the same thing; and that now flung forth out of the Bodies of the Devils into the Nature of God, like a Thief and a Murderer, that desired to rob, murder, and spoil all, and bring all under its Power, and so kindled all the seven Spirits in Nature, and then there was nothing else but an astringent, bitter, fiery and cracking Burning, Tearing and Raging.

(77) Thus all had its Beginning, even to the Angels and Devils; which before the Creation of Heaven, Stars, and the Earth, were proceeded out of the same Power, out of which the Heaven, the Stars, and the Earth were proceeded.

(65) And such a House also the whole Space or Extent of this World came to be, when the Deity in the seven Spirits had hid itself from the horrible Devils,

(1) "He continued in the discourse and said: "The second order is called Ariouth the Æthiopian, a female ruler, who is entirely black, under whom stand fourteen other [arch]demons which rule over a multitude of other demons. And it is those demons which stand under Ariouth the Æthiopian, that enter into strife-seekers until they stir up wars and murders arise, and they harden their heart and seduce it to wrath in order that murders may arise. "And the souls which this authority will carry off in ravishment, pass one-hundred-and-thirteen years in her regions, while she tormenteth them through her dark smoke and her wicked fire, so that they come nigh unto destruction. "And thereafter, when the sphere turneth itself, and the little Sabaōth, the Good, who is called in the world Zeus, cometh, and he cometh to the fourth æon of the sphere, that is the Crab, and Boubastis, who is called in the world Aphroditē, cometh into the tenth æon of the sphere which is called the Goat, at that time the veils which are between those of the Left and those of the Right, draw themselves aside, and Yew looketh forth to the right; the whole world becometh alarmed and is agitated together with all the æons of the sphere. And he looketh on the dwellings of Ariouth the Ethiopian, so that her regions are dissolved and ruined, and all the souls which are in her chastisements are carried off and cast back into the sphere anew, because they are ruined through her dark smoke and her wicked fire."

(21) And there I saw seven stars of the heaven bound together in it, like great mountains and burning with fire.

(2) He continued further in his discourse and said: "The third order is called Triple-faced Hekatē, and there are under her authority seven-and-twenty [arch]demons, and it is they which enter into men and seduce them to perjuries and lies and to covet that which doth not belong to them. "The souls then which Hekatē beareth hence in ravishment, she handeth over to her demons which stand under her, in order that they may torment them through her dark smoke and her wicked fire, they being exceedingly afflicted through the demons. And they spend one-hundred-and-five years and six months, being chastized in her wicked chastisements; and they begin to be dissolved and destroyed. "And thereafter, when the sphere turneth itself, and the little Sabaōth, the Good, he of the Midst, who is called in the world Zeus, cometh, and he cometh to the eighth æon of the sphere which is called the Scorpion, and when Boubastis, whom they call Aphroditē, cometh, and she cometh to the second æon of the sphere which is called the Bull, then the veils which are between those of the Right and those of the Left draw themselves aside and Zorokothora Melchisedec looketh out of the height; and the world and the mountains are agitated and the æons become alarmed. And he looketh on all the regions of Hekatē, so that her regions are dissolved and destroyed, and all the souls which are in her chastisements, are carried off and cast back anew into the sphere, because they are dissolved in the fire of her chastisements."

(1) "It came to pass then, when all those who are in the twelve æons saw the great light which was about me, that they were all thrown into agitation one over against the other, and ran hither and thither in the æons. And all æons and all heavens and their whole ordering were agitated one over against the other on account of the great fear which was on them, for they knew not the mystery which had taken place. And Adamas, the great Tyrant, and all the tyrants in all the æons began to fight in vain against the light, and they knew not against whom they fought, because they saw nothing but the overmastering light. "It came to pass then, when they fought against the light, that they were weakened all together one with another, were dashed down in the æons and became as the inhabitants of the earth, dead and without breath of life.
