(4) And he was the first to write a testimony, and he testified to the sons of men among the generations of the earth, and recounted the weeks of the jubilees, and made known to them the days of the years, and set in order the months and re- counted the Sabbaths of the years as we made (them) known to him.

(10) And in his life on earth he excelled the children of men save Enoch because of the righteousness, wherein he was perfect. For Enoch's office was ordained for a testimony to the genera- tions of the world, so thathe should recount all the deeds of generation unto generation, till the day of judgment.

(4) And in the seventh jubilee in the third week AM- Enos took Nam his sister to be his wife, and she bare 325 a.m. mm a son in {he third year of the fifth week, and he called his name Kenan.

(7) And I also will give you commandment, my sons, as Enoch commanded his son in the first jubilees : whilst still living, the ^pvpfltM jn hi«; gpnppat'^D, he commanded and testi- fied to his son and to his sons' sons until the day of his death." (1) The revelation that Adam taught his son Seth in the seven hundredth year, saying, Listen to my words, my son Seth. When god created me out of the earth along with your mother Eve, I went about with her in a glory that she saw in the eternal realm from which we came. She taught me knowledge of the eternal god. And we resembled the great eternal angels, for we were higher than the god who created us and the powers with him, whom we did not know.

(47) And in the seventh week, in the seventh 2303 am year, in the forty-seventh jubilee, thy father went forth from the land of Canaan, and thou wast born in the fourth week, in the sixth year thereof, in the 2330 am forty-eighth jubilee ; this was the time of tribulation on the children of Israel.

(17) And it came to pass in the seventh week, in the first year thereof, in the first month in this jubilee, on the twelfth of this month, there were voices in heaven regarding Abraham, thathe was faithful in all that He told him, and thathe loved the Lord, and that in every affliction he was faithful.

(85) Now it being, thus, therefore they sought for quite another Treader upon the Serpent; also now they inclined their Heart to God, so that seventy Years after this Murder, they begot a very upright [virtuous] holy Son that feared God, (who established again the pure Church of the Fear of God and promised Seed of the Woman,) whose Name was Seth; who also begot a very upright [virtuous] Son, whose Name was Enos, and then Men began to preach openly [or plainly] of God; and the Christian Church always rose up like a small Flock, in spite of all the Ragings of the Devils.

First Eve conceived Abel from the first ruler; and she bore the rest of the sons from the seven authorities and their angels. Now, all this came to pass according to the forethought of the chief creator, so that the first mother might bear within herself every seed, mixed and joined together with the fate of the world and its configurations and justice. A plan came into being because of Eve, so that the fashioned bodies of the authorities might become fences for the light. Then the light will condemn them through their fashioned bodies. The first Adam of light is spiritual and appeared on the first day. The second Adam is a person with soul and appeared on the sixth day, called Aphrodite. The third Adam is earthly, that is, a man of law, who appeared on the eighth day, after the rest of poverty, which is called Sunday. Now, the progeny of the earthly Adam multiplied and was completed and produced within itself all the technical skill of the Adam with soul. But all were in ignorance.

(7) For thus did Enoch, the father of your father command Methuselah, his son, and Methuselah his son Lamech, and Lamech commanded me all the things which his fathers commanded him.

(33) Again, in diseases the seventh day is that of the crisis; and the fourteenth, in which nature struggles against the causes of the diseases. And a myriad such instances are adduced by Hermippus of Berytus, in his book On the Number Seven, regarding it as holy. And the blessed David delivers clearly to those who know the mystic account of seven and eight, praising thus: "Our years were exercised like a spider. The days of our years in them are seventy years; but if in strength, eighty years. And that will be to reign." That, then, we may be taught that the world was originated, and not suppose that God made it in time, prophecy adds: "This is the book of the generation: also of the things in them, when they were created in the day that God made heaven and earth." For the expression "when they were created" intimates an indefinite and dateless production. But the expression "in the day that God made," that is, in and by which God made "all things," and "without which not even one thing was made," points out the activity exerted by the Son. As David says, "This is the day which the Lord hath made; let us be glad and rejoice in it; " that is, in consequence of the knowledge imparted by Him, let us celebrate the divine festival; for the Word that throws light on things hidden, and by whom each created thing came into life and being, is called day.

(4) And in the fifth week of the fifth jubilee Seth a.m. took 'Azura his sister to be his wife, and in the fourth 235 a.m. (year of the sixth week) she bare him Enos.
