(6) The world does not know that we must all come to an end here;--but those who know it, their quarrels cease at once.

(21) The soul answered and said, What binds me has been slain, and what turns me about has been overcome,

(1) I, Shem, have completed these things. And my mind began to separate from the body of darkness. My time was completed. And my mind put on the immortal testimony. And I said,

(10) There is no end of My divine manifestations, Ο dreaded Arjuna. This is but a partial statement by Me of the multiplicity of My attributes.

(22) and my desire has been ended, and ignorance has died.

(109) Ye who have done good shall wait for those days till an end is made of those who work evil; and an end of the might of the transgressors.

(71) And this for ever without end! How can a creature sufficiently rejoice therein? O dear love and gracious amiable blessedness! Surely thou hast no end. No man can see any end in thee, thy profound deep is unsearchable, thou art everywhere all over thus; only in the fierce devils art thou not thus, they have spoiled and perished thee in themselves. Question.

(89) For when you see a Soul set free, the Father sendeth another, that the number may be complete.

(18) But not in my reason or apprehension, nor in perfection like an angel, but in part, and so long only as the spirit tarrieth in me, further I know it not.

(7) Then my soul was so afflicted in anxiety, as if it were captivated by the devil, whereby reason gat so many checks and assaults, as if the body were presently to be destroyed or ruined, and the [my] spirit would not give over, till it brake through again, through the dead or mortal reason, and so has burst open the door of darkness, and has gotten its seat again in the stead thereof, whereby it gat new life and power again.

(38) And thenceforward none shall seek for themselves mercy from the Lord of Spirits For their life is at an end.

(2) For this is my testimony, that through it I have been victorious over the wicked region.

(8) All things which exist are in my grasp, and those depend upon me which are not yet

(11) Be not afraid, be not bewildered, on seeing this terrific form of Mine. Free from fear and glad at heart, behold again My other form.

(7) We must, however, not rest satisfied with these, but endeavour as we best can to adduce the doctrines laid down on the point by the naturalist; for they say that Anaxagoras of Clazomenae affirmed contemplation and the freedom. flowing from it to be the end of life; Heraclitus the Ephesian, complacency. The Pontic Heraclides relates, that Pythagoras taught that the knowledge of the perfection of the numbers I was happiness of the soul. The Abderites also teach the existence of an end. Democritus, in his work On the Chief End, said it was cheerfulness, which he also called well-being, and often exclaims, "For delight and its absence are the boundary of those who have reached full age;" Hecataeus, that it was sufficiency to one's self; Apollodotus of Cyzicum, that it was delectation as Nausiphanes, that it was undauntedness, for he said that it was this that was called by Democritus imperturbability.

(3) All things may be the objects of our hope,

Since nothing hopeless any where is found:

All things with ease Divinity effects,

(149) So that I cannot, in the comprehensibility, in my innate, instant or present qualifying or fountain spirits, or in the circle of life, discern or know it otherwise, for the day breaketh forth apace.

(12) I am, I am, I live, I live, I grow, I grow, and when I shall awake in peace, I shall not be in corruption, I shall not be destroyed in my bandages. I shall be free of pestilence, my eye will not be corrupted, my skin (?) will not disappear. My ear will not be deaf, my head will not be taken away from my neck, my tongue will not be torn away, my hair will not be cut off, my eyebrows shall not be shaven off. No grievous harm shall come upon me, my body is firm, it shall not be destroyed. It shall not perish in this earth for ever

(5) Knowing Me as the enjoyer of all sacrifices and austerities, the Lord and controller of all the worlds, friend of all beings, man attains peace.
