(4) They feared the people. And they answered, We cannot tell.

(104) We desired to get away from them that we might escape and be at rest, But found no place whereunto we should flee and be safe from them.

(5) And against the angels whom He had sent upon the earth, He was exceedingly wroth, and He gave commandment to root them out of all their dominion, and He bade us to bind them in the depths of the earth, and behold they are bound in the midst of them, and are (kept) separate.

(36) After saying this, they disappeared to return to their own land.

(13) And one who had escaped came and told Abram that his brother's son had been taken captive and (Abram) armed his household servants.

(104) And they helped those who robbed us and devoured us and those who made us few; and they concealed their oppression, and they did not remove from us the yoke of those that devoured us and dispersed us and murdered us, and they concealed their murder, and remembered not that they had lifted up their hands against us.

(37) And they sent to Aram, and to 'Aduram to the friend of their father, and they hired along with them one thousand fighting men, chosen men of war.

(26) They took him even as he was in the ship. And they launched forth.

(89) And when they saw it they feared and trembled at its presence, and desired to return to their folds.

(5) And all the lords, having gathered in council, went to fortify the ravines and the towns, having conquered the towns of all the tribes. Then spies went out to observe the enemy and they founded something like towns in the occupied places. "Just in case by chance the tribes might return to occupy the town," they said, when they reassembled in council.

And my sagacious Master made a sign Of wishing secretly to speak with them. A little then they quelled their great disdain, And said: "Come thou alone, and he begone Who has so boldly entered these dominions. Let him return alone by his mad road; Try, if he can; for thou shalt here remain, Who hast escorted him through such dark regions." Think, Reader, if I was discomforted At utterance of the accursed words; For never to return here I believed.

(44) And they died the year in winch they entered into Egypt, and there was left to Dan Hushim alone.

(8) Meanwhile the hearts of the priests and the sacrificers on the summit of the mountain were calm. And Balam-Quitzé, Balam-Acab, Mahucutah, and Iqui-Balam having talked together, they built a wall at the edge of the town and enclosed it with boards and thorns. Then they made figures in the form of men, and put them in rows on the wall, armed them with shields and arrows and adorned them, putting metal crowns on their heads. These they put on the simple wooden figures, they adorned them with the metal which they had taken from the tribes on the road and with them they decorated the figures. They made a moat around the town, and then they asked advice of Tohil: "Shall they kill us? Shall they overcome us?" their hearts said to Tohil.

(46) And they mado them serve with rigour, and the more they dealt evilly with them, the more they increased and multiplied.

(90) And behold they were all bound, I saw, and they all stood before Him.

(90) And those ravens fought and battled with it and sought to lay low its horn, but they had no power over it.

(89) And as those wolves did not yet see the sheep, they proceeded into the midst of that sea, and the wolves followed the sheep, and [those wolves] ran after them into that sea.

(34) And the seven kings of the Amorites assembled themselves together against them, to slay them, hiding themselves under the trees, and to take thoir cattle as a prey.
