(155) The Fifth quality, or the fifth spirit of God among the seven spirits of God, in the divine power of the Father, is the gracious, amiable, blessed, friendly and joyful love.

(27) The fifth spirit is the love, which existeth from the light of the life, which generateth sensibility and reason.

(6) This Fourth Dimension may be called "The Dimension of Vibration" It is a fact well known to modern science, as well as to the Hermetists who have embodied the truth in their "Third Hermetic Principle," that "everything is in motion; everything vibrates; nothing is at rest." From the highest manifestation, to the lowest, everything and all things Vibrate. Not only do they vibrate at different rates of motion, but as in different directions and in a different manner. The degrees of the rate of vibrations constitute the degrees of measurement on the Scale of Vibrations--in other words the degrees of the Fourth Dimension. And these degrees form what occultists call "Planes" The higher the degree of rate of vibration, the higher the plane, and the higher the manifestation of Life occupying that plane. So that while a plane is not "a place," nor yet "a state or condition," yet it possesses qualities common to both. We shall have more to say regarding the subject of the scale of Vibrations in our next lessons, in which we shall consider the Hermetic Principle of Vibration.

(56) The fifth qualifying or fountain spirit in the divine power, is the gracious, amiable and blessed love, which is the very glance or aspect of meekness and humility, which is also generated in the flash of life.

(59) The Fourth quality, or the fourth fountain-spirit in the divine power of God the Father, is the heat, which is the true beginning of life, and also the true spirit of life.

(20) But this World being created (as a Principle) in the fourth Form as an Out-Birth, and the Paradise [being] between the fourth and fifth Form, and the Element [being] in the fifth Form, and therein the eternal Light of the Deity having opened another Center, and the Soul having reflected back again into the fourth Form, and entered thereinto, it made all Essences predominant in it, which stood in the fourth Form.

(28) Now when that light, which stands in the midst or centre, shineth into the four spirits, then the power of the four spirits riseth up in the light, and they become living, and love the light; that is, they take it into them, and are impregnated with it, and that spirit which is so taken in is the love of the life, which is the fifth spirit.

(15) Now these four spirits move themselves in the flash, for all the four become living therein, and so now the power of these four riseth up in the flash, as if the life did rise up, and the power which is risen up in the flash is the love, which is the fifth spirit.

(21) Now observe, The gracious, amiable, blessed love, which is the fifth fountain-spirit in the divine power, is the hidden source, fountain or quality which the corporeal being cannot comprehend or apprehend, but only when it riseth up in the body, and then the body triumpheth therein, and behaveth itself friendly, lovely and courteously; for that quality or spirit belongeth not to the imaging or framing of a body, but riseth up in the body, as a flower springeth up out of the earth.

(15) is meant the spiritual essence of one of the four elements. There areas many ethers as there are elements and as many distinct families of Nature spirits as there are ethers. These families are completely isolated in their own ether and have no intercourse with the denizens of the other ethers; but, as man has within his own nature centers of consciousness sensitive to the impulses of all the four ethers, it is possible for any of the elemental kingdoms to communicate with him under proper conditions.

(106) The other three, viz. the heat, the love, and the tone, stand in the incomprehensibility, and are generated out of the first three; and this now is the inward birth, wherewith the Deity qualifieth, mixeth or uniteth.

(50) Then the fourth Form in the Center of the Soul broke forth there where the Spirit of the Soul was created, [viz.] between the fourth and fifth Form in the Center, near the Heart of God; and so the fourth Form was in the Glance in the Darkness, out of which the World was created, which in its Form parts itself in its Center into the five Parts in its Rising, till [it attains] to the Light of the Sun. For the Stars also in their Center are generated betwixt the fourth and the fifth Form, and the Sun is the P Spring of the fifth Form in the Center; as in the eternal Center, the Heart and the Light of God [is,] which has no Ground; but this [Center] of the Stars and Elements has its Ground in the fourth Form in the dark Mind, in the Rising up of the awakened [or kindled] Flash of the Fire.

(37) V. The fifth generating in God is when this light thus very gently, mildly and amiably presseth through the first four births or generatings, and then it bringeth along with it the heart, and most pleasant lovely power and virtue of the sweet water, and so when the sharp births or genitures taste of it, then are they very meek, and richly full of love, and it is as if the life did continually rise up in and from death.

(60) For in the first four qualifying or fountain spirits stands the divine birth or geniture; therefore they must be very earnest and strong also, though they, too, have among them their meek mother, the sweet water; and in the fifth stands the gracious, amiable and blessed love; and in the sixth the joy, and in the seventh the framing, imaging or comprehensibility.

(6) Something besides a unity there must be or all would be indiscernibly buried, shapeless within that unbroken whole: none of the real beings would exist if that unity remained at halt within itself: the plurality of these beings, offspring of the unity, could not exist without their own nexts taking the outward path; these are the beings holding the rank of souls.

In the same way the outgoing process could not end with the souls, their issue stifled: every Kind must produce its next; it must unfold from some concentrated central principle as from a seed, and so advance to its term in the varied forms of sense. The prior in its being will remain unalterably in the native seat; but there is the lower phase, begotten to it by an ineffable faculty of its being, native to soul as it exists in the Supreme.

To this power we cannot impute any halt, any limit of jealous grudging; it must move for ever outward until the universe stands accomplished to the ultimate possibility. All, thus, is produced by an inexhaustible power giving its gift to the universe, no part of which it can endure to see without some share in its being.

There is, besides, no principle that can prevent anything from partaking, to the extent of its own individual receptivity in the Nature of Good. If therefore Matter has always existed, that existence is enough to ensure its participation in the being which, according to each receptivity, communicates the supreme good universally: if on the contrary, Matter has come into being as a necessary sequence of the causes preceding it, that origin would similarly prevent it standing apart from the scheme as though it were out of reach of the principle to whose grace it owes its existence.

In sum: The loveliness that is in the sense-realm is an index of the nobleness of the Intellectual sphere, displaying its power and its goodness alike: and all things are for ever linked; the one order Intellectual in its being, the other of sense; one self-existent, the other eternally taking its being by participation in that first, and to the full of its power reproducing the Intellectual nature.

(74) In the deep the power of all stars, together with the heat and lustre of the sun, are all but one thing, a moving, boiling, hovering, like a spirit or matter; only it has not reason, for it is not the Holy Spirit. And thus also the fourth element must adhere or belong to a natural spirit, or it is not capable of reason. [75. " Thus God the Father goeth forth in his deep out of all his powers, and generateth the splendour, the Heart, or the Son of God in his centre."]

(21) And now when the Body of the Soul, in the fourth Form, was come to be a Mass out of the Water, with a Mixture of the other Forms, then stuck all Essences, out of the fourth Form, upon the Soul, and it was captivated with this Body; and it had continued in an eternal Prison, if the eternal Word had not instantly given itself into the Center of the fifth Form, as was manifested in Adam and Eve in the Garden of Eden.

(7) It is not the knower of the inner (dream state) nor the outer (wakeful state) nor the knower of both; it is not a mass of consciousness and it is not conscious or unconscious. It is the One Self, the essence of consciousness, unseen, unassociated, inconceivable, incomprehensible, indescribable, and without characteristics. It is the cessation of phenomena, peaceful, blissful, and non-dual. That is known as the fourth state and That is to be realized.

(1) THE Sixth qualifying or fountain spirit in the divine power is the sound, tone, tune or noise, wherein all soundeth and tuneth; whence ensued speech, language, and the distinction of everything, as also the ringing melody and singing of the holy angels, and therein consisteth the forming or framing of all colours, beauty and ornament, as also the heavenly joyfulness. Question.

(40) VI. Now the sixth generating in God is when the spirits, in their birth or geniture, thus taste one of another, for then they become very full of joy: For the fire-flash, or the sharpness out of or from the birth or geniture, riseth up aloft, and moveth as the air in this world does.
