(1) The revelation that Adam taught his son Seth in the seven hundredth year, saying, Listen to my words, my son Seth. When god created me out of the earth along with your mother Eve, I went about with her in a glory that she saw in the eternal realm from which we came. She taught me knowledge of the eternal god. And we resembled the great eternal angels, for we were higher than the god who created us and the powers with him, whom we did not know.

(32) And all the tithes of the oxen and sheep shall be holy unto the Lord, and shall belong to His priests, which they will eat before Him from year to year ; for thus is it ordained and engraven regarding the tithe on the heavenly tables. (26) He brought forth a camel from a rock, and made the golden calf to bellow.

(13) When the soul of Jirjis became privy to its light, He sacrificed his life seven times, and regained it. When Zakhariah boasted of his love for it, When Jonah swallowed a draught from that cup, When John the Baptist became filled with its unction, When Jethro became aware of this exaltation, Patient Job gave thanks for seven years, When Khizr and Elias boasted of gaining it, When Jesus. Son of Mary, found that ladder of ascent, When Muhammad gained that blessed possession, When Abu Bakr became the exemplar of that grace,

(32) When, in two days, God had brought the body of this world into a right form, and had made the heaven for a partition between the love and the wrath, then, on the third day, the love pressed through the heaven and through the wrath, and instantly the old body in death stirred and moved itself to the birth or geniture.

(1) Giving praise to Osiris, falling on the earth before the lord of eternity; propitiating the god with what he loves, speaking the truth, the lord of which is not known

(2) And on that day He created for them all the seas according to their separate gathering-places, and all the rivers, and the gatherings of the waters in the mountains and on all the earth, and all the lakes, and all the dew of the earth, and the seed which is sown, and all sprouting things, and fruit-bearing trees, and trees of the wood, and the garden of Eden, in Eden, and all (plants after their kind). These four great works God created on the third day.

(45) And he gave all his books and the books of his fathers to Levi his son thathe might preserve them and renew them for his children until this day. The Death of Joseph. (14) Now you may see the distinct illustrations of these things in the religious rites performed by the Hierarch. For the Godlike Hierarch starts with the holy anointing, and the Priests under him complete the Divine service of the Chrism, summoning in type the man initiated to the holy contests, within which he is placed under Christ as Umpire: since, as God, He is Institutor of the awards of contest, and as wise, He placed its laws, and as generous, the prizes suitable to the victors. And this is yet more Divine, since as good, He devotedly entered the lists with them, contending, on behalf of their freedom and victory, for their power over death and destruction, he who is being initiated will enter the contests, as those of God, rejoicing, and abides by the regulations of the Wise, and contends according to them, without transgression holding fast the hope of the beautiful rewards, as being enrolled under a good Lord and Leader of the awards: and when after following in the Divine footsteps of the first of athletes, through goodness, he has overthrown, in his struggles after the Divine example, the energies and impulses opposed to his deification, he dies with Christ--to speak mystically --to sin, in Baptism.

(3) And when she had completed these eighty days we broughther into the Garden of Eden, for it is holier than all the earth besides, and every tree that is planted in it is holy.

(14) And he took all these in the middle of the month ; and he dwelt at the oak of Mamre, which is near Hebron. II. And he built there an altar, and sacrificed all these ; and he poured their blood upon the altar, and divided them in the midst, and laid them over against each other; but the birds divided he not.

(1) He caused and produced Beth, predominant in wisdom, crowned, combined, and formed the Moon in the Universe, the first day of the week, and the right eye, of man.

Jesus revealed himself [at the] Jordan River as the fullness of heaven’s kingdom. The one [conceived] before all was conceived again; the one anointed before was anointed again; the one redeemed redeemed others.

(38) ¶At Jerusalem it was the feast of the dedication. It was winter. Jesus walked in the temple in Solomon's porch.

(4) He • began to call on the name of the Lord on the earth. The Patriarchs from Adam to Noah (cf. Gen. v.) ; Life of Enoch ; Death of Adam and Gain (iv. -). 3°-3i5

(4) And at the close the nineteenth jubilee, in the seventh week in the sixth year thereof, Adam died, and all his sons buried him in the land of his creation, and he was the first to be buried in the earth.

(32) And as the fierce [wrathful] Essence of the Anger of God pressed into Adam, whereby he entered into Death, of which God spoke, saying, If thou eatest of the Tree, thou shalt die the Death, understand the Death in the Flesh, even while they were in the earthly Life, so the sharp Nails must pierce through the Hands and Feet of Christ, and so he must enter into Death; and as there is in the human Essences (before the Light of God) a Cross-Birth, so when the Light of God shines therein, all is turned into a pleasant flourishing Blossom, wherein the sharp Essences are not found or perceived.

(16) And Abraham took branches of palm trees, and the fruit of goodly trees, and every day going round the altar with the branches seven times * [a day] in the morning, he praised and gave thanks to his God for all things in joy.

(60) Now Christians know how they can, by the power of this Tree, press out from their death, through his death, to him into his life, and reign and live with him, wherein they also, with their pressing through with their new birth out from this dead body, can be with him in heaven.
