(15) I shine forth as the Lord of Life and the glorious order of this day: the blood which purifieth and the vigorous sword-strokes by which the Earth is made one

(2) This fire is honey for all things, and all things are honey for this fire. This shining, immortal Person who is in this fire, and, with reference to oneself, this shining, immortal Person who is made of speech — he is just this Soul, this Immortal, this Brahma, this All.

(43) As the air goeth forth from the power of the sun and stars, and moveth in this world, and causes that all creatures are generated, and that the grass, herbs and trees spring and grow, and causes all whatsoever is in this world to be:

(2) This wind is honey for all things, and all things are honey for this wind. This shining, immortal Person who is in this wind, and, with reference to oneself, this shining, immortal Person who is breath — he is just this Soul, this Immortal, this Brahma, this All.

(3) And now when we consider our Mind, in the Light of Nature, and what that is, which makes us zealous [or earnest,] which burns there [in] as a Light, and is desirous [thirsty or covetous] like Fire, which desires to receive from that Place where it has not sown, and would reap in that Country where the Body is not at Home [or dwells not,] then the precious Virgin of the Wisdom of God meets us, in the middlemost Seat in the Center of the Light of Life, and says; The Light is mine, and the [Power or] Virtue and Glory is mine, also the Gate of Knowledge is mine, I live in the Light of Nature, and without me you can neither see, know, nor understand any Thing of my Virtue, [or Power.] I am thy Bridegroom in the Light; and thy Desire [or Longing] after my Virtue [or Power] is my Attracting in myself; I sit in my Throne, but thou knowest me not; I am in thee, and thy Body is not in me. I distinguish [or separate,] and thou seest it not. I am the Light of the Senses, and the Root of the Senses is not in me, but near me. I am the Bridegroom of the Root, but she has put on a rough Coat. I [will] not lay myself in her Arms till she puts that off, and then I will rest eternally in her Arms, and adorn the Root with my Virtue [and Power,] and give her my beautiful Form, and will espouse myself to her with my Pearl.

(50) But the sweet quality does thus love the heat because it generateth therein the lightspirit, which is the spirit of life. For life existeth in the heat, for if the heat were not, all would be a dark valley: Now so dear as the life is, so dear also is the heat to the sweet spirit, and the light in the heat.

(48) For as the sun stands in the midst, between the stars and the earth, enlightening all powers, and is the light and heart of all the powers, and is all the joy in this world, besides, all beauty and pleasantness stands in the light and power of the sun.

(12) I am the light of the world: he that followeth me shall not walk in darkness, but shall have the light of life.

(3) Moreover, all was very bright and light therein, neither was there need of any other light; but the fountain or wellspring of the Heart of God enlightened all, and was a light in all, which did shine everywhere all over incessantly without any obstacle. For nature was very rarified and thin or transparent, and all stood merely in power, and was in a very pleasant lovely temper.

(117) He maketh the whole World of Fire, Air, Water, and Earth, and of the all-nourishing Ether.

(12) I am, I am, I live, I live, I grow, I grow, and when I shall awake in peace, I shall not be in corruption, I shall not be destroyed in my bandages. I shall be free of pestilence, my eye will not be corrupted, my skin (?) will not disappear. My ear will not be deaf, my head will not be taken away from my neck, my tongue will not be torn away, my hair will not be cut off, my eyebrows shall not be shaven off. No grievous harm shall come upon me, my body is firm, it shall not be destroyed. It shall not perish in this earth for ever

(93) Behold! that is the birth or geniture of nature; and so, if in these three qualities, viz. the astringent, the bitter and the sweet, the wrath-fire were not kindled, then thou wouldst plainly see where God is.

(77) But when thou lookest upon a thing which pleaseth thee, and awakenest the spirit in thine heart, then thou kindlest the fire in thine heart, which burneth first in the sweet water like a glowing coal.

(2) This sun is honey for all things, and all things are honey for this sun. This shining, immortal Person who is in this sun, and, with reference to oneself, this shining, immortal Person who is in the eye — he is just this Soul, this Immortal, this Brahma, this All.

(57) For this is the water of life, wherein the love, in God as also in angels and in men, generateth itself: For it is all of one sort of power, virtue and birth or geniture.

(10) For all qualities in nature are one in another as one quality, in that manner as God is all, and as all things descend and come forth from him: For God is the heart or fountain of nature, from him cometh all.

(30) Behold, thus saith the spirit in the word, which is the very heart of the earth, and which riseth or springeth up in his heaven, in the clear flash of the life, wherewith my spirit in its knowledge qualifieth, mixeth or uniteth, and through which I write these words.

(23) There spring up also in these powers and virtues all manner of blossoms and flowers, with fair heavenly colours and smells.

(71) But thou art generated in the heat, where the light riseth up in the sweet spring or fountain- water; have a care lest the heat burn thee; it is time, thou wouldst do well to quench that. Question.

(5) You are a superior One, first shadow of the holy father, light from light.
