(44) And there were born to Joseph in Egypt before his father came into Egypt, those whom Asenath, daughter of Potiphar priest of Heliopolis bare unto him, Manasseh, and Ephraim — three.

(1) WHEN Solomon--the beloved of God, builder of the Everlasting House, and Grand Master of the Lodge of Jerusalem--ascended the throne of his father David he consecrated his life to the erection of a temple to God and a palace for the kings of Israel. David's faithful friend, Hiram, King of Tyre, hearing that a son of David sat upon the throne of Israel, sent messages of congratulation and offers of assistance to the new ruler. In his History of the Jews, Josephus mentions that copies of the letters passing between the two kings were then to be seen both at Jerusalem and at Tyre. Despite Hiram's lack of appreciation for the twenty cities of Galilee which Solomon presented to him upon the completion of the temple, the two monarchs remained the best of friends. Both were famous for their wit and wisdom, and when they exchanged letters each devised puzzling questions to test the mental ingenuity of the other. Solomon made an agreement with Hiram of Tyre promising vast amounts of barley, wheat, corn, wine, and oil as wages for the masons and carpenters from Tyre who were to assist the Jews in the erection of the temple. Hiram also supplied cedars and other fine trees, which were made into rafts and floated down the sea to Joppa, whence they were taken inland by Solomon's workmen to the temple site.

(41) And unto Judah we said that his two sons had not lain with her, and for this reason his seed was established for a second generation, and would not be rooted out.

(44) And the sons of Rachel, the wife of Jacob : Joseph and Benjamin.

(30) And he besought his father and her brothers that she might be given to him to wife. And Jacob and his sons were wroth because of the men of Shechem; 1 Cl. Gen. xxviii. , xxxvi. ,

(18) Albert Pike mentions several forms of the name CHiram: Khirm, Khurm, and Khur-Om, the latter ending in the sacred Hindu monosyllable OM, which may also be extracted from the names of the three murderers. Pike further relates the three ruffians to a triad of stars in the constellation of Libra and also calls attention to the fact that the Chaldean god Bal--metamorphosed into a demon by the Jews--appears in the name of each of the murderers, Jubela, Jubelo, and Jubelum. To interpret the Hiramic legend requires familiarity with both the Pythagorean and Qabbalistic systems of numbers and letters, and also the philosophic and astronomic cycles of the Egyptians, Chaldeans, and Brahmins. For example, consider the number 33. The first temple of Solomon stood for thirty-three years in its pristine splendor. At the end of that time it was pillaged by the Egyptian King Shishak, and finally (588 B.C.) it was completely destroyed by Nebuchadnezzar and the people of Jerusalem were led into captivity to Babylon. Also King David ruled for thirty-three years in Jerusalem; the Masonic Order is divided into thirty-three symbolic degrees; there are thirty-three segments in the human spinal column; and Jesus was crucified in the thirty-third year of His life.

(44) Simeon and his sons; and these are the names of his sons : Jemuel, and Jamin, and Ohad, a " To show the way " (Gen. xlvi. ). and Jachin, and Zohar, and Shaul, the son of the Zephathite ! woman — seven.

(34) And after Joseph perished, the sons of Jacob took unto themselves wives. The name of Reuben's wife is 'Ada ; and the name of Simeon's wife is 'Adiba'a, a Canaanite ; l and the name of Levi's wife is Melka, of the daughters of Aram, of the seed of the sons of Terah ; and the name of Judah's wife, Betasu'el, a Canaanite ; and the name of Issachar's wife, Hezaqa ; and the name of Zebulon's wife, jNi'imant ; and the name of Dan's wife, 'Egla; and the name of Naphtali's wife, Rasu'u, of Mesopotamia; and the name of Gad's wife, Maka ; and the name of Asher's wife, Tjona ; and the name of Joseph's wife, Asenath, the Egyptian ; and the name of Benjamin's wife, 'Ijasaka.

(34) And Jacob and Levi and Judah and Joseph were in the house with Isaac their father; lor his spirit was sorrowful, and they could not leave him : and Benjamin was the youngest, and for this reason remained with his lather.

(7) The sons of Japheth : Gomer and Magog and Madai and Javan, Tubal and Meshech and Tiras : these are 1324-1372 the sons of Noah.

(10) But Joseph heard that Archelaus did reign in Judea in the room of his father Herod: he was afraid to go thither: he turned aside into the parts of Galilee: and he came and dwelt in Nazareth.

(41) And he grew up; but Bedsu'el, the wife of Judah, did not permither son Shelah to marry. And Bedsu'el, the wife of Judah, died in the fifth tvnr of this week.

(13) And Abraui went into Egypt in the third year of the week, and he dwelt in Egypt five years before his wife was torn away from him.

(28) And Jacob went in again unto her, and she conceived, and bare two (children), a son and a daughter, and she called the name of the son Zebulon, and the name of the daughter Dinah, in the seventh of the seventh month, in the sixth year of the fourth v»cek.

(33) And they came and bowed themselves to Isaac and Rebecca, and when they saw them thev blessed Jacob and all his sons, and Isaac rejoiced exceedingly, for he saw the sons of Jacob, his younger son, and he blessed them.
