(18) And the Lord called Abraham by his name a second time from heaven, as he caused us to appear to speak to him in the name of the Lord.

(27) And He spake to Jacob and said : "I am the Lord God of Abraham, thy father, and the God of Isaac ; the land whereon thou art sleeping, to thee shall I give it, and to thy seed after thee.

(45) And Israel said unto Joseph : " Now let me die since I have seen thee, and now may the Lord God of Israel be blessed, the God of Abraham and the God of Isaac who hath not withheld His mercy and His grace from His servant Jacob.

(74) And God spoke further to Israel in the Fire, that they should see, that it was not possible to enter into the Land of Promise, [into] Paradise, till the right Joshua or Jesus came, who should bring them through Death into Life. Consider this further; I will set it down very clearly in the other Books concerning the Tables of Moses; search for it, and you will find the whole Ground of whatsoever Moses has spoken and done. Of Christ's Resurrection out of the Grave.

(23) And Jacob awoke from his sleep, and behold Abraham was cold as ice, and he said: "Father, father!"; but there was none that spake, and he knew thathe was dead.

(44) And on the sixteenth the Lord ap- peared unto him, and said unto him, " Jacob, Jacob " ; and he said, " Here am I." And He said unto him : " I am the God of thy fathers, the God of Abraham and Isaac ; fear not to go down into Egypt, for I will there make of thee a great nation.

(31) And Isaac said : " Let my son Jacob come, and let me see him before I die." x

(18) And I called to him from heaven, and said unto him : "Abraham, Abraham"; and he was terrified and said : " Behold, (here) am I." II. And I said unto him : " Lay not thy hand upon the lad, neither do thou anything to him ; for now I have shown that thou fearest the Lord, and hast not withheld thy son, thy first-born son, from me."

(29) And Isaac went up from the Well of the Oath and dwelt in the tower of Abraham his father on the mountains of Hebron,

(42) And Jacob said : " Me have ye bereaved of my children ! Joseph is not and Simeon also is not, and ye will take Benjamin away. On me hath your wickedness come." x

(22) And he called Jacob and said : " My son Jacob, may the God of all bless thee and strengthen thee to do righteousness, and His will before Him, and may He choose thee and thy seed that ye may become a people for His inheritance according to His will alway. And do thou, my son, Jacob, draw near and kiss me."

(27) Whereas Joshua was an Image and Similitude, that Israel (because they could not subsist in the Father's Clarity and Love) should be led by the second Joshua (or Jesus) out of the Wrath into the Love, through the Breaking of his Body, and Entering into Death. Moses must enter through Death into Life, and bring his Clarity through Death into Life; even as he appeared with Elias on Mount Thabor to the second Joshua or Jesus, in the Clarity of the Father, and showed him the Pleasure of the Father, [viz.] that he (the second Joshua) should bring Israel through his Death and Clarity into the Promised Land of Paradise.

(18) And God said to him, " Abraham, Abra- ham " ; and he said, "Behold, (here) am I."

(39) Thus, O blind Jew, Turk, and Heathen, thou seest that there are three Persons in the Deity, thou canst not deny it, for thou livest and art or hast thy being in the three Persons, and thou hast thy life from them and in them, and in the power of these three Persons thou art to rise from the dead at the last day, and live eternally. Note.

(3) "Came any one by his own merit hence, Or by another's, who was blessed thereafter?" And he, who understood my covert speech, Replied: "I was a novice in this state, When I saw hither come a Mighty One, With sign of victory incoronate. Hence he drew forth the shade of the First Parent, And that of his son Abel, and of Noah, Of Moses the lawgiver, and the obedient Abraham, patriarch, and David, king, Israel with his father and his children, And Rachel, for whose sake he did so much, And others many, and he made them blessed; And thou must know, that earlier than these Never were any human spirits saved." We ceased not to advance because he spake, But still were passing onward through the forest, The forest, say I, of thick-crowded ghosts. Not very far as yet our way had gone This side the summit, when I saw a fire That overcame a hemisphere of darkness. We were a little distant from it still, But not so far that I in part discerned not That honourable people held that place.

(45) And Israel blessed his sons before he died and told them everything1 that would befall them in the land of Egypt ; and he made known to them what would come upon them in the last days, and blessed them and gave to Joseph two portions in the land.

(32) And the Lord appeared to him by night and blessed him and said unto him : ' " Thy name shall not be called Jacob, but Israel shall they name thy name."

(22) And he answered me and said unto me: 'These three have been made that the spirits of the dead might be separated. And such a division has been made 〈for〉 the spirits of the righteous, in which there as the bright spring of water.

(88) Speaking then of the true Resurrection of Christ, we will also show [somewhat] concerning his Conversation (those forty Days) after his Resurrection, before his Ascension. Because we know that he is become a real Lord over Heaven, Earth, and Hell, therefore we show you how the Kingdom of this World, with all the Essences and Qualities thereof, has been subjected to him. And though he did not always converse visibly with his Disciples, yet many Times he showed himself to them visibly, palpably, and staying with them, according to the Kingdom of this World, according to his Body which he had here, which was swallowed up by the new Body, which he must present again, as God would have it to be presented; for God is Lord of every Thing, and every Thing must be changed (as he pleases) that he might thus show his Disciples his real Body, and the Print of his Nails, which stand in the Holy Christ, in his holy Body in Eternity, as

(15) Neither will thy name any more be called Abram, But thy name from henceforth, even for ever, shall be Abraham. For the father of many nations have I made thee.
