(3) Wherefore the Word is called the Alpha and the Omega, of whom alone the end becomes beginning, and ends again at the original beginning without any break.

(2) I am the first and the last. I am the honored and scorned. I am the whore and holy. I am the wife and the virgin. I am the mother and daughter. I am the members of my mother and the barren one with many sons. I have had a grand wedding and have not found a husband. I am a midwife and do not give birth. I am the solace of my labor pains. I am bride and groom, and my husband produced me. I am the mother of my father and sister of my husband, and he is my offspring. I am a slave of him who prepared me and ruler of my offspring. He produced me earlier yet on my birthday. He is my offspring to come, and from him is my power. I am the staff of his power in his youth and he the rod of my old age, and whatever he wants happens to me. I am a silence incomprehensible and an idea remembered often. I am the voice whose sound is manifold and word whose appearance is multiple. I am the utterance of my name.

(9) I am the Father of this universe, the Mother, the Sustainer, and the Grandsire. I am the knowable, the purifier, and the syllable Om. I am also the Rik, the Sāman, and the Yajus.

(9) In the opening chapter of the Apocalypse, St. John describes the Alpha and Omega who stood in the midst of the seven golden candlesticks. Surrounded by his flaming planetary regents, this Sublime One thus epitomizes in one impressive and mysterious figure the entire sweep of humanity's evolutionary growth--past, present, and future.

(10) I am the Self, O Guḍākeśha, seated in the hearts of all creatures. I am the beginning, the middle, and the end of all beings.

(6) I am the great one. I come forth between the legs of the cycle of the gods. I have been conceived by Sechet, and Shestet gave me birth to be her star, Sothis, the first one, the great walker who brings Rā through the sky every day

(10) Of created things I am the beginning and the end and also the middle, Ο Arjuna. Of all sciences I am the Science of the Self, and in disputation I am reason.

(6) To each one he gave a name, since the two orders are in a name. Those belonging to the thought and those of the representation are called "the Right Ones" and "Psychic" and "the Fiery Ones" and "the Middle Ones." Those who belong to the arrogant thought and those of the likeness are called "the Left", "Hylic", "the Dark Ones," and "the Last."

(10) Of the Daityas I am Prahlāda, and of measurers I am Time. Of beasts I am the lion, and of birds I am Garuda.

(9) I am the goal, the supporter, the Lord, the witness, the abode, the shelter, the friend, the origin, the dissolution, the foundation, the treasure-house, and the seed imperishable.

(16) I am the Prophet in Abydos on the day when the earth is raised

(33) I am he whose Soul resideth in a pair of gods

(18) I am the second outcome of the sky, and the third of him who makes his light. I have come out of the womb; I have been an infant like my father; there are no perverse actions of mine in the various events of my lot

(14) I am the eternal one, like the bull. I am feared by the cycle of the gods in my name of the eternal one

(18) You are divided among them and become a great male first-appearing mind. Father god, divine child, maker of multiplicity, in dividing all those who really are, you revealed to them all a word.

(15) I am the only one, the guardian of his door, he who puts the gods in their abodes

(2) I hail and give worship to the Orb, and associate myself with those in adoration, I am one of them

(4) I come forth by day and disclose myself at the head of the gods

(48) I am master of my throne and I pass onwards. The present time is the path which I have opened, and I have set myself free from all things evil

(3) From that one and through it you have come into being first and forever, you who are nonexistent from One, the indivisible, triple power.
