(3) Wherefore the Word is called the Alpha and the Omega, of whom alone the end becomes beginning, and ends again at the original beginning without any break.

(10) Of creations I am the beginning and the middle and also the end; of all knowledges I am the knowledge of the Self, and Vada of disputants.

(9) In the opening chapter of the Apocalypse, St. John describes the Alpha and Omega who stood in the midst of the seven golden candlesticks. Surrounded by his flaming planetary regents, this Sublime One thus epitomizes in one impressive and mysterious figure the entire sweep of humanity's evolutionary growth--past, present, and future.

(1) I am he who closeth and he who openeth, and I am but One

(5) I am the Only one; just and true upon the Earth. It is I who say it

(32) The Father is all, and all Power subsists in the Father: He is the Beginning and the End of all Things; and besides and beyond him is nothing; and whatever is, is from the Father.

(10) Of letters the letter 'A' am I, and dvandva of all compounds; I am, verily, the inexhaustible Time; I am the All-faced Dispenser.

(6) The first beginning is for the sake of the last end. God Himself doth not rest because He is the beginning, but because He is the end and goal of all creation. This end is concealed in the darkness of the everlasting Godhead, and is unknown, and never was known, and never will be known. God Himself remains unknown; the light of the everlasting Father shineth in darkness, and the darkness comprehended it not. May the truth of which we have spoken lead us to the truth. Amen.

(10) I am the Self, O Gudakesa, seated in the heart of all beings; I am the beginning and the middle, as also the end, of all beings.

(17) I am he who cometh forth and proceedeth, and whose name is unknown to man

(9) I am the Goal, the Sustainer, the Lord, the Witness, the Abode, the Shelter and the Friend, the Origin, Dissolution and Stay; the Treasure-house, the Seed imperishable.

(77) Jesus said, "It is I who am the light which is above them all. It is I who am the All. From Me did the All come forth, and unto Me did the All extend. Split a piece of wood, and I am there. Lift up the stone, and you will find Me there."

(4) And Jesus made invocation, turning himself towards the four corners of the world with his disciples, who were all clad in linen garments, and saying: " iaō iaō iaō ." This is its interpretation: iōta , because the universe hath gone forth; alpha , because it will turn itself back again; ōmega , because the completion of all the completeness will take place.

(9) I am the father of this world, the mother, the dispenser, and grandsire; I am the knowable, the purifier, the syllable 'Om,' and also the Rik, the Saman, and the Yajus also.

(27) The sensible types of these, then, are the sounds we pronounce. Thus the Lord Himself is called "Alpha and Omega, the beginning and the end," " by whom all things were made, and without whom not even one thing was made." God's resting is not, then, as some conceive, that God ceased from doing. For, being good, if He should ever cease from doing good, then would He cease from being God, which it is sacrilege even to say. The resting is, therefore, the ordering that the order of created things should be preserved inviolate, and that each of the creatures should cease from the ancient disorder. For the creations on the different days followed in a most important succession; so that all things brought into existence might have honour from priority, created together in thought, but not being of equal worth. Nor was the creation of each signified by the voice, inasmuch as the creative work is said to have made them at once. For something must needs have been named first. Wherefore those things were announced first, from which came those that were second, all things being originated together from one essence by one power. For the will of God was one, in one identity. And how could creation take place in time, seeing time was born along with things which exist.

(5) And lo! I am the Heir of Endless Time, and my attribute is Eternity

"He is a man in the world, but he towereth above all those of the Midst and will raise himself above them all. "He is a man in the world, but he towereth above the emanations of the Treasury of the Light and will raise himself above them all. "He is a man in the world, but he towereth above the Mixture and will raise himself entirely above it. "He is a man in the world, but he towereth above the whole region of the Treasury and will raise himself entirely above it. "He is a man in the world, but he will rule with me in my kingdom. "He is a man in the world, but he is king in the Light. "He is a man in the world, but he is not one of the world. "And amēn, I say unto you: That man is I and I am that man.

(40) It is I who rise up and shine forth; strength proceeding from strength, the One proceeding from the One
